Cockermouth Mid-summer Festival

Volunteer

We’re looking for volunteers to help the Festival Committee organise the festival itself, including:

• Programming and Operations: helping researching and booking acts, venues etc, licensing, logistics, co-ordination. In other words, making things happen.
• Publicity: helping updating websites, distributing leaflets and posters
• Finance: helping applications to funding bodies and businesses
• Volunteers: liaison with and organising our volunteers

We also need volunteers for the week of the festival. If you have a couple of hours – longer if you’d like – to help us do (really easy!) things such as:

• Room set-up (mainly setting out chairs if needed)
• Ticket sales/collection on door
• Work on the bar (a very simple one!) at intervals
• Hand out festival flyers/programmes
• Bucket donation collection
• Put up signs
• Stewarding (mainly for cockermouth LIVE! on Sat. 25 June)

Stewarding is where we need the most volunteers – we need dozens. It’s an easy role, from sitting in a quiet room with classical performers or youth drama groups, to the livelier atmosphere of bands playing at Memorial Gardens.

There’s a role to suit everyone. Please volunteer if you can – it’s a great way to get involved and meet new people, while you’re helping Cockermouth Midsummer Festival to be a great success!
